Moradi Complains Against Majlis Board for Rejection of His Credentials

TEHRAN A candidate for the Sixth Majlis elections from central Arak constituency Hassan Moradi, in a protest letter to the Article 90 Commission of Majlis, complained against Presiding Board that rejected his credentials.
Majlis deputies disapproved Moradi's credentials on September 24. The commission is to discuss the complaint and if the protest is accepted and the commission gives vote in his favor, his credentials will be put on the agenda of Majlis sessions to be reviewed.
In the runoff election held in Arak in June, pro-reform Rahman Kargosha obtained the required number of votes to qualify for a seat in the Sixth Majlis, but the Guardian Council (GC) overturned the results of 31 ballot boxes resulting in Moradi being declared as the winner. Election irregularities were cited as the cause for the nullification of the votes.
Majlis alleged that the GC annulled the votes of a number of constituencies wherein reformers close to President Mohammad Khatami were declared winners.
